This study looks at the effect that both immigration and offshoring has on American jobs and concludes the overall effect of immigration is positive for the American workforce and jobs. The authors find that low-cost immigration and immigrant labor keeps American jobs here and also increases productivity. Many immigrants are performing the lower-skill jobs that would have been sent overseas, while Americans are able to maintain higher-level jobs.
