The Trump Administration’s increased immigration enforcement policies have significantly impacted many students and scholars at higher education institutions across the country. On community college campuses, immigrant students have expressed anxiety and uncertainty, particularly undocumented students, including those who have received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status. Despite the Trump administration’s decision to end the DACA program in September 2017, several federal court challenges have kept DACA in place temporarily. While the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has currently stopped accepting first-time DACA applications, it is still accepting DACA renewal applications from anyone who previously had DACA. Download this toolkit of resources and recommendations to help educators launch effective outreach campaigns and prepare staff to provide clear and comprehensive information to support undocumented students, including DACA recipients.
