Anson_resizedAnson Green directs strategic partnerships for employment and training solutions at the Alamo Colleges. As a member of the Economic and Workforce Development leadership team, Anson directs workforce-focused basic education and ESL initiatives and Developmental Education including Alamo Colleges I-BEST strategic initiative.  Anson provides technical assistance and teacher training to community college and workforce development organizations across Texas. Anson is a member of the Workforce Solutions Alamo Board of Directors and Chairman of the advisory board for the Mission Verde Center, San Antonio’s emerging sustainability center of excellence.

Prior to his work at the Alamo Colleges, Anson provided workforce training solutions for Texas businesses as a member of the Workforce Business Services department at the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).  At TWC Anson led the development of state policy on workforce literacy, and worked with state elected officials and agencies on enhancement of the Texas adult education system. While at TWC Anson directed and co-authored the state’s Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Guide for Workforce Professionals.

In 2000, Anson was a research fellow at the National Institute for Literacy and delegate to the first National Adult Literacy Summit in Washington DC.  Anson has held teaching posts at St. Philip’s College, San Antonio College, Northwest Vista College, Florida State University, Texas Lutheran University, and the Northside Independent School District.  

Anson’s publications include The Limited English Proficiency Guide for Workforce Professionals (Texas Workforce Commission, 2007); Excellence in Sales and Service (Texas Workforce Commission, 2007); Job Readiness in the Adult Education Classroom (2005, Oklahoma State Department of Education 2005);  Ready for Work! An Employment Curriculum for Women (Grassroots Press, 2001).
