Our Blue Ribbon Panel
Overview
The National Blue Ribbon Panel is actively involved in the work of the CCCIE. As the initial leadership group for CCCIE, the BRP members work with the CCCIE staff to develop a blueprint for the most effective ways to achieve the goals of the project. Members of the Blue Ribbon Panel include:
- 16 senior level administrators of community colleges from geographically diverse areas, including urban and rural areas, new immigrant destinations and established immigrant destinations.
- 3 representatives from selected professional associations and nonprofit organizations
- 2 researchers in the field of immigrant education and reform.
The Community College Representative on the Blue Ribbon Panel
Each community college president selects a senior level administrator from his/her institution to serve as part of the national Blue Ribbon Panel. The selected community college administrator:
- Is the highest level administrator within the institution with supervisory authority over programs for immigrant education or training or English as a Second Language
- Has the ability and authority to impact policy within the institution and among other community colleges and associations
- Has a professional commitment to the importance of the community college’s role in immigrant education
